English: A UH1C gun ship belonging to the 9th Infantry Division (ID) was shot down near Tan An City, Republic of Vietnam. A Cavalry unit from the 9th ID provided protection using its M113 Armored Personnel Carriers. Later the UH1C was air lifted and evacuated back to 9th IDs base camp. The Recovery Section of the 56th Transportation Company stationed in Tan Son Nhut evacuated the UH1C using a CH-47 Chinook. |
